Welcome
Welcome from the Board Chair
Thank you for your interest in Habinteg. We’re delighted that you’re considering joining us at this exciting time. At Habinteg, we believe that everyone deserves a home that supports their independence and wellbeing, and for over 50 years, we’ve been leading the way in providing accessible, inclusive housing across the UK. We want communities to include disabled people, offering places to live that meet their needs and provide the highest levels of independence, choice and control over daily life.
At Habinteg, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of inclusive housing, ensuring that everyone has access to a safe, comfortable, and supportive home. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our mission forward, fostering innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and accountability.
Habinteg is not only a provider of homes we are a leading authority on inclusive design, and offer invaluable consultancy and training, assisting clients from all sectors to create and manage more inclusive built environments and services.
We are delighted to have recently gained our G1/V2 rating and are preparing for a Regulatory Inspection expected in 2025. We are also embarking on a root and branch review of our repairs and maintenance service a key aspect of our offer to our customers.
This is an exciting time to join Habinteg as we continue to review and refine our services. The role of Chair of Audit and Risk and Assurance Committee (ARAC) is integral to the ongoing success and sustainability of Habinteg. You will be leading a strong and effective Committee, and your leadership will be key to navigating future risks while seizing opportunities for improvement and growth.
For the role of Chair of Audit Risk and Assurance, we are seeking a curious, experienced and committed individual who will bring diversity of thought and inclusive leadership to ARAC and the Board. You will be financially qualified, preferably with social housing sector experience. We seek an individual who can adapt to change, think strategically, who relishes the challenge of managing risk and providing assurance to the Board, supporting Habinteg’s strategic direction and impact.
For the board member role who will also sit on the Investment Committee, we are seeking an individual with extensive strategic experience of asset management, particularly repairs and maintenance and development. Someone who has overseen the transformation of services and strategic investment decisions. Previous Non-Executive Director experience is not essential. We are initially appointing this role as a Co-optee for one-year with the potential of being renewed or converted to a permanent board member as we progress through our succession plan.
What’s common to both roles is our desire to attract candidates who have lived experience of a disability or social housing, who share our passion for inclusion and are committed to our values.
If this resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.
