Remuneration
Current remuneration is £17,900, plus reasonable expenses.
Time Commitment
The Chair is expected to commit significant time and energy to fulfil their duties. As a guide, the commitment includes:
- Induction: 3–4 days for familiarisation with the organisation’s business and governance framework.
Ongoing approximately 2-3 days per month:
- Chairing formal Board and Committee meetings.
- Regular one-to-one meetings with the Chief Executive.
- Engagement with other Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members.
- Participation in meetings with Vice Chair, Committee Chairs and regulators.
- Leading Board away days and attending General Meetings.
- Attending training and development events.
- Proactive communication with Board members and the ELT.
- Representing the organisation at public events.
- Leading Board member annual appraisals and attending their own.
- Addressing issues relating to performance or conduct of Board or executive members.

Board meeting dates 2025-2026
Typically, our Board meetings take place as hybrid meetings offering either in person attendance at our Fairfax House head office or remote attendance via MS Teams. They take place in the evenings between 6 – 8.30pm. The Board also usually has one or two away days throughout the year that usually are in person. All meetings are held on Thursdays.
