Thank you for your interest in us, Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA) as our Director of Development. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation dedicated to enhancing lives and driving sustainable growth in the Scottish Borders.  You will be joining us at the start of a new phase in growth as we launch our new Strategic & Business Plan 2025-30 “Building our Impact – Creating Growth” and you will play a fundamental role in delivering our future.

As a valuable member of the Executive team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to decisions, working in collaboration with the board to achieve SBHA’s wider strategic objectives, improving and delivering for our customers and also leading on the development and growth objectives. A key focus of this Director role will be to successfully deliver a £77m development programme of 300 new homes by 2028.

Our Development programme will provide much needed energy-efficient, warm homes that will help mitigate the impact of the cost-of-living crisis, the housing emergency and climate change. New homes will also bring significant benefits to local communities, including training and employment opportunities, supporting local businesses, and improving neighbourhoods across the Borders.

We seek an exceptional individual with a proven track record in delivering large-scale residential development programmes and expertise in financial management, risk mitigation and forging influential partnerships A visionary leader with a strong sense of responsibility who builds constructive and effective relationships and partnerships and demonstrates an ability to contribute to the wider strategic aims of the organisation
