Welcome

Thank you for your interest in becoming Board Chair at Fairhive Homes. We are delighted that you are considering joining us. As a leading provider of social and affordable homes in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas, we are proud of our achievements and our commitment to our residents. We have created this microsite to give you a sense of who we are, what we have achieved so far, and what our plans are for the future.

This is an exciting time for us.  We have launched our new Corporate Strategy for 2025 and beyond with a focus on initiatives that are important to us in meeting the needs of our residents, both now and in the future. By embracing new and innovative ideas, we are shaping the direction of the business and responding to the challenges that we face, particularly in reducing our environmental impact and improving our sustainability. We also await details on the government’s proposals to build more new homes at affordable rent, which represents a significant opportunity, and we are well placed and resourced to thrive in this environment.  We believe that organisations need to be agile and responsive to the needs of their residents, communities, and other partners, and we are well equipped to do this because of our local focus and presence.

Our new strategy outlines our plans and proposals to continue developing new homes for those in housing need, maintaining the health and safety of our existing homes, and ensuring we manage the organisation to provide value for money.

We are looking for a new Chair who can build on our success and foster positive relationships, enabling us to strengthen our residents’ voice and influence, grow the business to meet increasing demand whilst remaining local for our residents, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will be a strategic leader and have an understanding of the housing and social sectors and the challenges they and the communities of Fairhive face. You will also bring financial and risk acumen and will ideally have previous Chairing experience and a successful track record of leading a successful team. Most importantly you will embrace our mission and values and be a strong advocate of equity and inclusion.

Our achievements are a result of the hard work of the dedicated and talented people we have within the organisation and of the endorsement that we have from our stakeholders and partners.

If you would like an informal discussion about the role then please contact our recruitment advisor Sioned Hughes at Altair Ltd.

If you like what you have heard about us at Fairhive, then we very much look forward to hearing from you.

Vice Chair
